Sunday Music: South Summit + Kwachala

South Summit (WA) is a talented young five-piece with a shared passion for creating original music that captures their experiences of life and love, with beautifully crafted songs that far exceed their years. In fact, two of the band are still at school!

Their influences are diverse, from Ocean Alley to The Police and Pink Floyd, and their popularity in the Perth music scene has seen them selling out gigs around the city.

South Summit is made up of brothers Isaiah and Nehemiah, on lead vocals and rhythm guitar respectively, lead guitarist Fynn, bass player Josh and Nathan on drums.

Kwachala means happy hour and that’s what we’re in for with this band’s high energy live show. Originally from Mozambique, gifted musician Joromi Mondlane leads the band’s contagious mix of blistering African reggae rhythms and smooth grooves. Bring your dancing shoes!

Sunday Music is FAC’s beloved flagship music program, presenting free weekly concerts every week for six months of the year from October to March. Enjoy a carefully curated line up of the best local and touring musicians every weekend under the trees in FAC’s stunning Front Garden.

The quality of the acts is perfectly complemented by the relaxed, family friendly atmosphere which makes Sunday Music a staple of summer in Fremantle. We recommend you arrive early and settle in for the afternoon. Bring a rug and picnic (no BYO alcohol) or enjoy tasty treats from the food vendors and bar on-site. Some chairs provided.

Sunday Music is possible thanks to the ongoing support of Bendigo Bank – Fremantle Community Bank Branch.
