Revealed: Aboriginal Artists in Conversation

Revealed: Artists in Conversation celebrates the rich, unique and diverse creative practices of WA Aboriginal artists. Through a series of intimate conversations with artists, this lively and insightful forum is a great place to hear about their stories, successes and artworks.

Program

Yolngu maker Keith Lapulung from Milingimbi Island in Arnhem Land, will be joined by Mark White from Manapan Furniture. to share a story that unites Indigenous art and contemporary furniture design.

Waringarri artists Dora Griffiths and Bindi Carlton will share exciting curatorial and collaborative projects they have been working on over the last year.

Tjanpi Desert Weavers fibre artist Cynthia Burke and film maker Jonathan Daw will speak about their storytelling collaboration Ngayuku Papa.

Wendy Nanji, Corban Williams, Ignatius Taylor, Judith Anya Samson, Crystal Gardiner and Zenith Gardiner, from Martumili Artists and Spinifex Hill Artists, will speak about their recent collaborative exhibition Pujiman.

Michelle White, Sharyn Egan and Marcelle Riley will share stories of the Noongar Dolls Project, an important healing project for Noongar women.

Host: Glenn Iseger-Pilkington – Curator and writer; Wadjarri, Nhanda and Noongar man and member of a Dutch and Scottish migrant family.
