Disclosure: Gemma Weston

Introducing Disclosure, a quarterly evening of discourse and ideas, a space of ambition and experimentation.

From art theory, to contemporary identity, Disclosure presenters will share knowledge and experience from their own unique vantage points, challenging us to see the world through a different lens, if only for an evening.

In the first session, Gemma Weston – Perth Festival Visual Arts Associate, Curator and Artist – responds to the question ‘What’s text got to do with it?’

She’ll delve into the highs and lows of text-based practice in contemporary art before opening the floor for questions.

Before the night ends, there will be time to mingle over a beverage to keep the ideas flowing.

Why text-based work?

Words have power — the pen is mightier than the sword. Undertow features several artists working with the written word, a tradition that dates back as long as written words themselves.

Program Update

In light of the announcement by the WA State Government introducing Level 2 public health measures from Thursday 3 March, this event will proceed in our Front Garden to ensure greater social distancing can be observed.
