2021 Revealed Exhibition: Artist Talks

Join us in the Main Gallery for a series of relaxed conversations with five of our talented 2021 Revealed Exhibition artists, while enjoying delicious treats from Noongar Caterers Kuditj Kitchen.

Speakers

These talks will share fascinating insights into the artists’ practices and the stories behind the making of their artworks. Featuring a wide range of emerging WA Aboriginal artists, we chat with Amanda Bell (Wardandi Country) about her a large-scale blazing pink ‘Moorditj’ neon work, which has quickly become a crowd favourite and social media sensation.

Rory Charles is a young Wunambal Gaambera, Nyikina, Balanggara and Gooniyandi man from the Kimberley who is living in Perth for his final year at Trinity College. He’ll discuss his detailed painted works in the exhibition and the stories of Wunambal Gaambera Country depicted.

Raised and living in Boorloo / Perth, Mandy White will share the inspiration behind her whimsical, lively paintings.

Travelling all the way from the Pilbara town of Newman, Ignatius (Hamzah) Taylor from Martumili Artists will talk about his stunning series of photographs, exploring community life in the Western Desert.

Also travelling to Fremantle for this special artist talk, Wendy Warrie from the Cheeditha Art Centre in Roebourne will tell us about the new developments in her practice and her gorgeous delicate set of paintings in Revealed.
